Dr. Edward Murphy, MD

Board-Certified Neurosurgeon | Medical Educator | Humanitarian
Dr. Edward Murphy earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and completed graduate studies at Northwestern University’s Biomedical Engineering Institute. He later received his medical degree from Northwestern and completed his neurosurgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, after a fellowship at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London. He is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
He served as a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, leading several military hospitals during his service, including the 114th Evacuation Hospital in Operation Desert Storm. He was also a course director for national trauma and burn life support programs.
Dr. Murphy has held academic roles at Baylor College of Medicine and currently serves as adjunct professor at Texas Chiropractic College and Associate Medical Director of Graduate Medical Education at St. Joseph Medical Center.
He is the founder of Texas Medical Misión, a nonprofit supporting hospitals and clinics in Lima, Peru, where he continues to provide neurosurgical care and train local physicians. For his humanitarian work, he received the Dr. Thomas A. Dooley Award and was knighted by the Vatican into the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Texas Association of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Bogar Ventura, DC

Dr. Bogar Ventura is a board-certified chiropractor based in Houston, Texas, where he has been practicing at the Texas Medical Center since 2004. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of a wide range of neuromusculoskeletal conditions, including spinal cord-related disorders, with patients ranging from children to older adults.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Texas A&M University and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Texas Chiropractic College. Prior to his chiropractic career, Dr. Ventura worked in intensive care settings as a case manager and program coordinator for developmentally disabled patients, giving him a well-rounded background in healthcare.
Dr. Ventura serves as an adjunct professor at Texas Chiropractic College and is the vice president of Texas Medical Misión, a nonprofit initiative that brings healthcare to underserved communities in Latin America. He frequently travels to Lima, Peru, alongside Dr. Edward Murphy to treat patients in remote areas.
He is also a former board member and current active supporter of the Arthritis Foundation of Houston, and a member of the Hispanic American Medical Association of Houston and the Texas Chiropractic Association.
